AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: At least 11 Islamic State (IS) rebels, which is also known as Daesh terrorists have been killed after US drone targeted them in the Haska Mena district in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Wednesday.
Provincial Police Spokesman, Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the US forces conducted the drone strike in Dywana Baba area of the district on Tuesday.
“11 Daesh fighters belonging to the Tariq Afridi group were killed in the raid,” he said, adding that one vehicle and a number of heavy and light weapons were also destroyed.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) in Kabul confirmed the raid, saying US forces conducted it on Wednesday morning. However, Daesh militants have not commented about the strike so far.
