AT-KABUL: At least 11 Taliban insurgents were killed and four other received injuries during airstrikes in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Saturday.
Briefing newsmen, Ghazni Police Chief, Brig. Gen. Aminullah Amarkhel said that Taliban were killed before they target security checkpoints in Deh Yak district on Friday night.
“I heard airplanes circling on our area, then a heavy explosion occurred, but I don’t know what happened,” Pajhwok Afghan News quoted Jan Mohammad, a resident of the area, as saying.
However, Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahed said no Taliban member was killed in Deh Yak district on Friday night.
“I contacted the Taliban in the area, they assured me that no any of their member was killed in an explosion that happened in Deh Yak,” he said.
