AT-KABUL: A group of 11 Taliban fighters lay down arms and joined peace process in eastern Nangarhar province.
A statement issued by Nanagarhar Press office said that a group of 11 Taliban has lay down and joined peace process in the province.
The statement said that the fighters after joining peace process surrendered 11 rifles of different weapons to the intelligence forces.
The group was operating against government under Jalat Khan Commander Leadership in Sra road and Khogianai districts, who with commander joined peace process today, added statement.
The group joined peace process, after intelligence forces efforts in the province, mentioned the statement.
Statement said that the group believed that only Afghans are the victims of the ongoing war, thus they lay down arms.
The group, while committing to follow peaceful live, said that they will strive like other Afghans to take part in reconstruction and development of the country, underlined the statement.
