KABUL: The First Vice President, Amrullah Saleh on Wednesday said that security forces have arrested 11 members of the Taliban, who were behind differing bombings, including assassination of a prominent journalist Yama Siawash.
Mr. Saleh in a series of tweets said that it all started with a tip from an informant and enabled Kabul Police department to identify, locate and apprehend an 11-member Taliban terror cell, who were responsible for numerous bombings including murder of iconic Yama Siawash on November 7 last year.
He furthered that dozens of sticky bombs and IEDs were found in their caches.
“We have invited the media community, human rights organizations, civil society activists and advocacy groups to see the files, interview the terrorists and fulfill the wish of the grieving families,” he added.
It is worth mentioning that Siawash was working as media adviser of the Central Bank and was a former TOLOnews’ presenter, who was killed in an explosion targeting his vehicle in Makrorayan-e-Char area in downtown Kabul on November 7, 2020.
