Spanish media outlets report that 11 members of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been arrested in a joint operation by Spanish and Italian security forces.
Spanish media claim that TTP-affiliated members, who were arrested by Spanish police in Barcelona, were involved in various murders, robberies, and kidnappings. Spanish police have so far detained around 30 members of this group.
The goverment of Pakistan has repeatedly said some weapons left behind by U.S. forces have now fallen into the hands of TTP members.
Pakistan states that 16 TTP members were also killed by Pakistani security forces in the Bannu region.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani government accuses Afghanistan of cooperating with TTP, but Afghanistan has denied this claim.
The Afghan government has repeatedly rejected Pakistan’s allegations of supporting TTP, asserting that TTP is an internal issue of Pakistan and has no connection to Afghanistan.
