AT-KABUL: The Afghan National Security Forces killed 110 insurgents and injured 66 others as the result of joint clearing operations in various parts of the country, security officials said.
Ministry of Defense in a statement to the media said that the operations were launched in the last 24 hours in the districts of Nooristan, Kapisa, Laghman, Kunar, Wardak, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Herat, Paktia, Paktika, Logar, Takhar, Faryab, Ghor and Helmand provinces.
The statement said that the crackdowns were backed by air force in various parts of Kunduz, Balkh, Badakhshan Takhar and Baglan provinces.
Defense ministry said that these operations imposed heavy casualties for armed insurgents who wanted to hamper the security situation the mentioned provinces.
In the operation the Afghan security forces seized and confiscated different heavy and light weapons from the armed insurgents. Four Afghan soldiers also were martyred.
