KABUL: At least five civilians were killed and seven others, including women were wounded in separate roadside bomb blasts in the southern province of Helmand and western province of Herat.
Kandahar Governor Spokesman, Omar Zwak said that a vehicle hit a roadside bomb in the provincial capital city of Lashkargah. According to him, five civilians were killed in the incident that occurred on Friday morning.
Meanwhile, a roadside mine targeting a vehicle in Kashk-e-Kuhna district of Herat, wounded seven women.
Herat Governor Spokesman, Jailani Farhad confirmed the blast, saying that three of the wounded are in severe condition. He accused the Taliban of being involved in the attack. However, the Taliban have not stated any remarks in regards. The roadside bombs and hit-and-run assassinations targeting professional figures are the new twists of violence in Afghanistan.
