AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: At least 13 Taliban militants have been killed and nine others received injuries after the Afghan security forces recoiled their (Taliban) attack in a checkpoint in Tewora district of Ghor province, officials said on Monday.
The Afghan security forces killed 13 Taliban fighters in a response to their attack in a checkpoint, provincial officials said, adding that the clash lasted for few hours.
The Provincial Police Chief Spokesman, Mohammad Iqbal Nezami, said: “It was around 01:00am local time when insurgents attacked a checkpoint, but faced the iron hand of the Afghans security forces.”
Moreover, Nezami said that four policemen and a resident of the district also killed in the attack.
Nezami furthered that the Afghan security forces befittingly responded to the Taliban’s fighters attack, in which 13 Taliban insurgents were killed and nine others wounded. “Situation is under control now.”
However, the Taliban outfit has yet to comment into the incident.
