KABUL: As part of most recent crackdowns on the criminals, the officers of Afghan National Police have nabbed at least 130 people for various criminal cases in western Herat province.
The arrest was made during the past three months, said Provincial Directorate of National Security on Sunday.
They are changed for different types of crimes such as kidnapping, subversive activities, armed robbery and corruptions. 30 rifles of weapons and 190kg explosives were also seized from the arrested suspects.
Provincial Governor, Sayed Wahid Qetali said that 42 people were arrested in relation to kidnapping, and another 17 were arrested in connection with terrorist attacks, and 16 others for armed robbery.
Another nine people were detained in connection to corruption, according to him.
Afghan security forces also discovered and neutralized 60 mines planted by the enemy to target security forces in different parts of province, Mr. Qetali added.
“The enemies are hell-bent to smear the bad image of the country by carrying subversive activities, abduction, and armed robbery.”
He blamed the Taliban for all the criminal activities in the province.
The Taliban has not commented on the news so far.
