AT-KABUL: At least 138 armed Taliban fighters were killed and 83 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and the National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted clearance operations against insurgents in different areas of Kunar, Nangarhar, Faryab, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Zabul, Paktika and Ghor provinces. In these operations 138 rebels were taken out and 83 others injured.
Seven insurgents were also arrested and handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation. Police force also recovered huge cache of weapons in the operations, the ministry claimed.
