AT News Report-KABUL: At least 14 militants have been killed and six others receive injuries in multiple extensive military crackdowns carried out by the Afghan security forces in the past 24 hours, security official said Saturday.
A press statement from Ministry of Defense (MoD), said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktia, Paktika, Urzgan, Ghor, Faryab and Kunduz provinces, in which 14 insurgents were killed and six others wounded.
52 suspects have also detained during operations — with already two of them handed over to the judicial organs for further inquiry.
Afghan National Defense and Security Forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations, eight Taliban fighters killed in Sayed Karam district of Paktia–two insurgents killed in Mohammad Agha district of Logar–four militants killed in Dasht-e-Qala district of Takhar province.
In past 24 hours, nine planed clearing operations, and 101 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conducted 126 aerial operations supporting Afghan National Army including 17 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
ANA also discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition during operations belonging to the militant outfits.
