AT-KABUL: At least 15 armed Taliban fighters were killed and four others were wounded within past 24 hours in different crackdowns launched against anti-state elements.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted clearance operations against insurgents in different areas of Kunar, Nangarhar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Faryab, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Jowzjan, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Herat and Ghor provinces. In these operations 15 rebels were eliminated and four others injured.
Six insurgents were also arrested and handed over to the relevant judicial body for interrogation.
ANP recovered huge cache of weapons in the operations as well, the ministry claimed.
