AT-KABUL: 15 people were killed and 13 more injured Monday afternoon in a Taliban suicide bombing in northern Parwan province of the country.
A security official in the province, who wished anonymity, told Afghanistan Times the suicide bomber possibly riding a motorcycle targeted a local police commander and his bodyguards in Syagard district of the province.
According to the source 15 people including the commander and eight civilians were killed and 13 more injured in the attack.
The injured were rushed to Parwan hospital for treatment, some of them in critical health condition.
Taliban in a statement claimed their bomber has killed a local police commander and several of his men today afternoon in Parwan.
Parwan is among relatively calm provinces of the country.
