AT-KABUL: The National Directorate of Security (NDS) said Monday that 15 Taliban terrorists with links with the Quetta Shura (council) were arrested in the southern province of Kandahar.
In a press statement, the intelligence agency said that the arrested people were involved in different activities including sabotage, terrorizing of religious scholars, tribal leaders, government officials, ambushes and attacks on security checkpoints.
It said that the intelligence forces discovered some ammunition, but did not mention the number.
Separately, ministry of interior reported of killing a terrorist would-be suicide bomber in Kabul province.
In a statement, the ministry said that the bomber was shot dead in Hussain Khel village of Bagrami district while driving an explosives-filled car to Kabul city.
At least 35 people mostly civilians have been killed and more than 100 wounded following twin bomb blasts at the entrance of the Ministry of Defense earlier this month.
