AT-KABUL: As many as 150 engineers completed topography survey training in Mazar-e-Sharif, Balkh province on Wednesday.
The program was officially launched by Regional Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) of Germany. It provided technical assistance and fund to the program with 1.5 million Afs. The engineers who joined the training survey course come from different departments in Balkh, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Kundoz, Takhar and Samangan provinces, a statement issued by the RIDF said.
In the training survey course participants used topographical survey instruments, which generally are used in infrastructure projects, such as GPS, Theodolites and Optical level systems.
The engineers also learnt entering data into computer and analyzing.
The engineers underwent safety on construction sites program as well. One of the participants said that in the training survey course there were most effective lessons on improving their skills regarding safety in construction sites.
Many of the engineers expressed their gratitude over their new experiences and appreciated the course management.
The program of study was tailored to meet the needs of the departments of economy, education, public works, rural rehabilitation and development, power and water supply and demands of River Basin agencies.
