AT-KABUL: At least 16 Taliban insurgents were killed and six others were wound in separate air and ground raids of the Afghan forces in southern Helmand Province on Sunday.
Afghan forces raided on a Taliban hideout in Saffron area of Sangeen district, killing 10 insurgents and wounding six others, said Helmand Provincial Press office in a statement.
Likewise, Afghan air forces separately targeted six rebels and killed them in Zaqoom area of Marja district.
The insurgents planned to conduct subversive activities and make insecurity mentioned district in the province, according to the statement.
“One mortar launcher of the enemy was also destroyed in the airstrike.”
No casualties incurred to civilian during raids in the districts.
