KABUL: Over 179 Taliban insurgents, including their 15 commanders have been killed since conduction of spring offensive of the insurgent outfit in Northern and Northeastern provinces, military official said.
The 209th Shaheen Corps in a statement said the militants were killed during clashes in Badakhshan, Kunduz, Baghlan, Balkh, Sar-e-Pul, and Faryab provinces.
In addition to that, 77 militants, including their six commanders received inures in the clashes, said the statement.
The corps said that Taliban insurgents have increased attacks in northern parts of the country after announcement of their spring offensive. “Afghan security forces not only repelled their attacks through air forces, but also inflicted heavy causalities to Taliban insurgents”
Seven Afghan security forces embraced martyrdom and eleven others received injures, the military crops lamented via statement, adding civilians did not suffer casualty during operations. So far there is no word from Taliban insurgents in regards of huge causality of their fighters.
