AT-KABUL: Eighteen Taliban fighters were killed and 22 others wounded in different operations in the past 24 hours, officials said Tuesday.
In a press release, the defense ministry said that the Afghan National Army with the collaboration of the Afghan National Police and the National Directorate of Security conducted operations against insurgents in different areas of Ghazni, Farah, Kunduz, Kandahar and Kunar provinces. In these operations, 18 rebels were killed and 22 others were injured, the statement added.
Unfortunately, two army soldiers were martyred during the operations as the result of the enemy firing, said the statement.
The army also discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition during the operations, it mentioned.
