KABUL: As many as 19 uplift projects were completed in northern Sar-i-Pul, Balkh and southeastern Paktia provinces that benefit thousands of families.
The National Solidarity Program (NSP) officials in northern zone said on Wednesday that nine of the projects were completed in Sayid and Sancharak district of Sar-i-Pul.
The projects were completed at a total cost of Afs15 million funded by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) that include link roads, repairs of school buildings, small bridges and retaining walls.
Moreover, work on 500 different projects is underway in Sar-i-Pul.
According to the NSP officials, six school buildings were repaired in Balkh province while four big projects were completed in Gardez city of Paktia province at a total cost of Afs24 million.
Residents of the provinces expressed pleasure over completion of the projects and sought more uplift projects for their areas.
