AT-KABUL: Two staffers of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) were killed in a landmine blast in eastern Nangarhar province when their vehicle struck the landmine, on Monday morning. Six others were injured in the incident.
Provincial spokesman of the AIHRC in Nangarhar, Rafiuallah Bedar, said the AIHRC provincial staff’s vehicle was hit by a roadside landmine on Monday at 8:30 a.m. in the 4th jurisdiction of Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province.
Confirming the casualties he said that two people were killed and six others wounded in the blast.
The spokesman strongly condemned the attack and termed it an act of the enemies of Afghan people and government.
Spokesman to the provincial police, Hazrat Husain Mashriqwal, confirmed the incident and said that investigation was launched to arrest the culprits.
No armed group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
