AT-KABUL: At least 217 Taliban militants have been killed in military offensives conducted by Afghan security forces in different parts of the country over the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) in a statement issued on Wednesday said that security forces conducted military operations against the Taliban insurgents in Kapisa, Kunar, Paktia, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Logar, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Heratt, Farah, Faryab, Kunduz, Takhar and Helmand provinces.
The statement added that security forces killed 217 militants and wounded 129 others.
It is worth mentioning that the Taliban militants have recently intensified their terrorist attacks across the country. Afghan security forces after retaking Kunduz city pushed back the Taliban militants from Baharak and Shuhada districts of Badakhshan. The militants were also defeated in Ghazni province. Security forces also retook Chahardara district from the Taliban militants.
