KABUL: In series of shunning violence, 22 more Daesh fighters have renounced violence and surrendered to the Afghan security forces in eastern Nangarhar province, official said on Sunday.
Following clearance operations carried out by the Afghan Army forces in Achin district, 22 more Daesh affiliates surrendered, Deputy Spokesman for Ministry of Defense, Fawad Aman said.
The Daesh members were surrendered after they came under pressure of Afghan security forces and failed to fight in battlefield, the spokesman added.
It is a clear defeated of the group, and he has warned to other insurgents to surrender as they (Daesh fighters) would not be safe anywhere across the country.
Since r three weeks, at least 615 Daesh affiliates have surrendered to army forces.
Beside the Taliban group, Daesh militants are another terrorist group that actively conducts subversive and terrorist attacks in Nangarhar province.
