AT-KABUL: At least 23 Daesh loyalist fighters were killed in drone strike in eastern Nangarhar province within past 24 hours, officials said Sunday.
“These Daesh loyalist fighters were killed in two separate drone strike conducted by foreign troops in Nazian and Kot district,” said Provincial Governor Spokesman Attullah Khogianai.
He said that the first airstrike targeted Daesh fighters’ hideout in Spinizahi area of Nazain district, which killed 15 Daesh rebels including a key commander.
Another airstrike killed eight Daesh loyalists in Lagharjoi area of Kot district, he added.
No casualty was incurred to civilians in the strike, he noted.
Daesh fighters are actively present in Kot, Achin and some other district of Nangarhar province, where often targeting innocent people and governmental posts.
