AT-KABUL: At least 23 armed Taliban fighters were killed and two others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted clearance operations against insurgents in different areas of Takhar, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Paktiya and Helmand provinces. In these operations 23 rebels were eliminated and two others injured.
Six suspects were arrested and handed over to the relevant authorities for interrogation. The ministry also claimed that ANP has recovered huge cache of weapons.
