AT-KABUL: At least 24 armed Taliban were killed and 40 others wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours, said Ministry of Interior.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of interior (MoI) said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and the National Directorate of Security (NDS) had conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Takhar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Sar-e-Pul, Balkh, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Maidan Wardak, Paktiya, Herat, Farah and Helmand provinces. In these operations 24 rebels were killed and 40 others injured. Two militants were also arrested and handed over to relevant judicial authorities for investigation.
Weapons were also recovered from the militants during the operations, added the statement.
