AT-KABUL: Twenty-five Taliban fighters were killed and 12 others wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours, security officials Tuesday.
In a press release, Ministry of Defense said that Afghan National Army with the collaboration of the Afghan National Police and National Directorate of Security conducted operations against insurgents in different areas of Kunar, Nangarhar, Laghman, Khost, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Badghis, Balkh, Jawzjan, Faryab, Badakhshan, Kunduz, Baghlan, Sar-e-Pul and Helmand provinces.
“In these operations, 25 rebels were killed and 12 others were injured,” the statement added.
Nine insurgents were also arrested and handed over to judicial organs for further inquiry, according to the statement.
“Unfortunately, six army soldiers were martyred during the operations in the enemy’s firing.”
The national army has also discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in during the operations, it mentioned.
