KABUL: At least 25 militants have been killed and 21 others received injures in multiple extensive military crackdowns conducted by the Afghan security forces across the country within past 24 hours, security officials said Saturday.
The Ministry of Defense in a statement said the Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Helmand, Farah, Logar, Ghazni, Zabul, Kunar, Nangarhar, Paktika, Badghis, Balkh and Baghlan provinces that left 25 militants dead, while 21 others wounded.
Afghan National Defense and Security Forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations, eight militants killed and three others wounded in Kajaki district of Helmand—six insurgents killed and nine others wounded in Posht Rod district of Farah—six rebels killed and four others wounded in Charkh district of Logar—four terrorists killed and four others wounded in Andar and Qarabagh districts of Ghazni, and one insurgents killed another wounded in Shahjoi district of Zabul province.
Unfortunately, four Afghan Soldiers Army embraced martyrdom and number of them wounded during these operations, the statement lamented.
In past 24 hours, nine planed clearing operations, and 84 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conducted 57 aerial operations supporting Afghan National Army, including three strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
The ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition during operations as well.
