KABUL: At least 26 militants were killed and 14 others wounded in multiple extensive military crackdowns carried out by the Afghan security forces across the country in the past 24 hours, security officials said Wednesday.
Ministry of Defense in a statement said the Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Helmand, Kandahar, Badghis, Kunduz and Paktia provinces, in which 26 militants were killed and 14 others wounded.
Afghan National Defense and Security Forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During operations in the past 24 hours, eight Taliban fighters were killed, one motorbike and amount of weapons and ammunition destroyed in Marja district of Helmand – six insurgents killed and seven others wounded in Bala Murghab district of Badghis – fives militants killed and three others injured in Dasht-e Archi district of Kunduz province.
Similarly, five insurgents were killed and three others wounded in Maiwand district of Kandahar – two militants killed and another was wounded in Zarmat district of Paktia province.
In past 24 hours, 21 planed clearing operations, and Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conductedaerial operations supporting Afghan National Army including 12 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
