AT-KABUL: Twenty seven Taliban fighters were killed and22others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours, officials said Saturday.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) conducted operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Nooristan, Paktika, Khost, Ghazni, Farah, Jawzjan, Takhar and Helmand provinces.
“In these operations, 27 rebels including one Taliban commander were killed and 22 others were injured,” the press release said.
Four rebels was arrested and handed over to judicial organs for further inquiry.
The army discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
Unfortunately one army soldier was killed in the operations, according to the press release.
