AT-KABUL: Twenty-eight Daesh fighters were killed and 10 others wounded in different attacks in the eastern Nangarhar province, provincial officials said Saturday.
“Sixteen Daesh terrorists were killed in two NATO drone strikes Friday night in the Achin district,” Atullah Khogiani, governor spokesman told Afghanistan Times.
He said that the first strike killed five Daesh fighters, while 11 others were killed by the second one.
Meanwhile, a group of Daesh fighters attacked the checkpoints of a local police and a public uprising group in the Kot district at 04:00am Saturday, Khogiani said.
“Twelve Daesh terrorists were killed and 10 others were wounded in the gun battles with the local police and public uprising people in Kot district,” he said.
Dead bodies of the Daesh fighters remained in the battle site, he noted.
“Two civilians including a woman also sustained injury in the attacks.”
