AT-KABUL: As many as 28 Taliban fighters were killed and 21 others were wounded in different crackdowns carried out by security forces in parts of the country.
In a press release issued here, the Ministry of Interior (MoI), said the Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with the Afghan National Army (ANA) and the National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted joint military operations in different parts of Zabul, Faryab, Kandahar, Maidan Wardak, Jawzjan, Ghazni, Badakhshan, Herat, Paktia, Logar and Helmand provinces. Nearly 28 rebels were eliminated and 21 others injured in the military operations.
The ANP recovered huge cache of weapons and ammunition in the operations as well, the ministry claimed.
