KABUL – At least three civilians were killed and four others sustained injuries following a car explosion in eastern Kabul city on Tuesday.
The Taliban police spokesperson in Kabul, Khalid Zadran, confirming the grim news, stated that a car became the epicenter of the explosion, triggered by a planted mine.
The unsettling event unfolded at approximately 4:00 PM local time in the Alokhil area of PD 16. Security forces from the Taliban were quick to respond to the scene, apprehending a suspicious individual believed to be linked to the blast.
Notably, this marks the second explosion in Kabul in recent days. Just days ago, a passenger bus in Dasht Barchi, west of Kabul, fell victim to a similar fate. UNAMA reported that at least 25 Hazara individuals were killed and injured in that tragic incident. As investigations unfold, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the latest explosion, leaving the city on edge and authorities on high alert.
