KABUL: Dispute over kite flying has left at least three (kite runners) dead in Kabul, a capital city where its security and health officials are scrambling to halt the spread of wild coronavirus outbreak that so far killed 14 across the country and over 420 others were infected.
Kabul police said five people were arrested in connection and the incident of violence over kite flying had happened in 7th PD of Kabul.
Two more kite runners were wounded, Tariq Arian, spokesman for the ministry of interior said.
Inquiry is underway on the arrested five suspects, he said—the conflict has dragged in Dogah Abad, western part of the capital city.
Kabul has been placed into strict quarantine and movements have several restricted in a bid to break the chain of covid-19 pandemic. Kabul residents turn to kite flying during quarantine days, but slipped on the deadly incident. The price of kites also increased dramatically due to rush of demand.
Afghanistan, among other countries in the world, is in severe grip of deadly coronavirus, a novel virus that has no medicine, where only precaution measures recommending by health authorities.
