AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: At least three Taliban insurgents were killed and two others wounded when a truck loaded with explosives detonated in Shindand district of western Herat province, said local officials on Saturday.
The Herat governor’s spokesman Ehsanullah Hayat confirmed the blast and said that three Taliban fighters were killed on the spot and two others were injured.
According to the provincial police chief, Gen. Abdul Majid Rozi, the truck loaded with explosives was sent from the bordering area of Shindand and was heading towards other parts of the district. He said the insurgents did not succeed in transferring explosives as the explosives detonated on the way.
The Taliban has not yet commented.
