AT-KABUL: Thirty Taliban militants were killed and 30 others received injuries in different crackdowns within past 24 hours, said Ministry of Defense.
In a press release issued here, the Ministry of Defense, said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan NationalPolice (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS), had conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Paktika, Maidan Wardak, Khost, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Herat, Ghor, Balkh, Jawzjan, Takhar, Baghlan, Kunduz, and Helmand provinces. In these operations 30 insurgents were killed and 30 others injured. Weapons were also recovered from the insurgents during the operation, the statement added. Three insurgents were also arrested and handed over to relevant judicial authorities for further investigation, the statement said.
Unfortunately, seven ANA soldiers were also killed in the operation during exchange firings, the statement lamented.
