AT-KABUL: At least 31 insurgents have been killed in several crackdowns carried out by the Afghan security forces across the country in the past 24 hours, ministry of defense said Friday.
According to Ministry of Defense the operations carried out in Faryab, Heart, Ghazni, Uruzgan, Nimroz, Helmand, Nangarhar, Baghlan, Logar, Sar-i-Pul, Kandahar and Badakhshan provinces, in which 31 militants were killed, 16 others wounded and six were detained alive.
During operation 12 militants were killed in Andar district of southern Ghanzi province, while three in Maiwand district of Kandahar.
Moreover, fighters loyal to the Islamic State (IS), also known as Daesh terrorist were killed in operations, in which according to the ministry five Daesh militants killed in Ghaziabad district of Kunar province.
In Helmand, three militants have been killed while in Herat, two insurgent killed and five others received injuries.
The Afghan security forces and civilians did not receive casualty during operations within past 24 hours, the statement said.
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have been rendering sacrifices for the sake of restoring peace and security for the Afghan masses with strong determination to eliminate terrorists, the statement furthered.
