AT-KABUL: Thirty-two Taliban fighters were killed and five others wounded in different operations launched by the national army in different areas, security officials said Saturday.
“The Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal, conducted operations against Taliban insurgents in different areas of Paktia, Ghazni, Zabul, Baghlan, and Nangarhar provinces,” defense ministry said in a statement. “In these operations, 32 rebels were killed and five others injured.”
Three Taliban commanders and two mine experts were among the killed insurgents, the statement claimed.
Unfortunately, 12 soldiers were martyred as the result of enemy firing, said the statement.
Also, the national army discovered and confiscated a large number of weapons and ammunition in the operations.
