AT-KABUL: At least 324 schoolteachers have received residential plots in Istalif district of Kabul province, said officials on Tuesday.
The Education Minister, Asadullah Hanif Balkhi, Minister of Urban Development, Sayid Mansur Sadat Nadiri, a number of lawmakers and the governor of Kabul were the attendants of the ceremony where the plots were distributed for the teachers.
“We want to introduce better life to schoolteachers in support of the National Unity Government,” said Balkhi. “As per a presidential decree, at least 80,000 residential plots were distributed for teachers countrywide,” he added.
He said that they distributed nearly 400 residential plots for teachers in Uruzgan, 2,019 in Ghazni and 263 plots will be distributed for instructors in Qarabagh district of Kabul province.
He added that around 502 residential plots will be distributed for teachers in Teachers Township in New Kabul Project located in Dih-sabz district. He also said that sketching of 591 residential plots has been finalized in Firoz Nakhchir Township in Samangan which will be distributed in near future.
The minister emphasized that survey and engineering affairs of 800 acres of land in Chahar Asiab district of Kabul was finalized and will be distributed soon.
The Minister of Urban Development, Sayid Mansur Sadat Nadiri, assured to cooperate with sketching process of teachers’ townships as well as procurement and facilitating process of the residential plots not only in Kabul but in other provinces as well.
It comes after Kabul MP Ramazan Bashardost earlier said that based on his information lands were distributed to teachers only through a paper, but they have not received any land or plot yet.
He also said that salary of most of teachers was cut off by the MoE in past several years.
