AT-KABUL: As many as 33 Taliban fighters were killed in different crackdowns within past 24 hours, the Ministry of Defense claimed.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kunar, Paktika, Uruzgan, Baghlan, Balkh, Jawzjan, Kunduz, and Helmand provinces. In these operations 33 rebels, including a commander of Taliban, were killed.
One insurgent was arrested and handed over to the relevant judicial body for interrogation. Three soldiers were also killed in the operations, the ministry said.
