AT-KABUL: At least 33 Taliban fighters were killed and 10 others wounded during operation conducted by Afghan forces in western Farah province, within past 24 hours, security officials said on Saturday.
Afghan National Defense and Security Forces launched large-scale counterinsurgency joint operation in Posht Road district of Farah province, which as result 33 armed Taliban including three local commanders were killed and 10 other armed Taliban including a local commander were wounded, said a press statement released by Ministry of Interior.
Statement said that several villages cleared from armed Taliban and the security operation comes to an end.
An ammunition caches belonging to the armed Taliban were also destroyed during the operation, added statement.
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have stepped up Counter-Terrorism operations to suppress the insurgency activities of the terror groups, concluded statement.
