AT-KABUL: At least 34 Taliban killed and 29 others wounded during an operation launched by security forces in northern Baghlan province.
The Police Special Units launched large-scale counterinsurgency joint operation in Baghlan-e-Markazi district of Baghlan province which as a result, 34 armed Taliban were killed and 29 other armed Taliban were wounded, said a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior.
This operation would continue to clear the all villages from Taliban in Baghlan-e-Markazi district, added statement.
So far 16 small and big villages cleared from insurgents in the district, noted the statement.
Statement said that one rocket launcher, 20 rockets, 34 mortar rounds, 10 drums full of explosives and some amount of ammunition belonging to the armed Taliban were also destroyed during the operation.
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have stepped up Counter-Terrorism operations to suppress the insurgency activities of the terror groups.
