AT-KABUL: Ministry of Defense on Monday said that 37 Taliban fighters were killed and 29 others wounded during ground and airstrike in Northern and Northeastern provinces in the past 24 hours.
Afghan Defense and Security Forces have conducted joint operation in different areas of Baghlan, Faryab and Jawzjan provinces, which as result 37 insurgents killed and 29 others wounded, said MoD in a statement.
Statement said that 15 Taliban killed and 16 others wouned during air and ground operations conducted by Afghan forces in Nawabad, Araban, Zadran, Faqirkhil, Korchenar, Husainkhil and Qaisarkhil areas of Markazi Baghlan district of Baghlan province.
Dead bodies of the killed Taliban are left in site battle, added statement.
Statement said that one AK-47, 21 rocket, 9 cannon bullet, 14 mine and 3 motorbikes belonged to Taliban were confiscated by the Afghan forces in the district.
Afghan forces also conducted airstrike in Aqchi district of Jawzjan, which killing 12 rebels and wounding eight others, noted statement.
Similarly, 10 Taliban fighters were killed and five other were injured during air and ground operation carried out by Afghan forces in Ghormach district of Faryab, underlined the statement.
