374 militants killed in latest raids

KABUL: The Taliban suffered massive losses in fighting against the Afghan security forces, defense ministry said, adding that over 374 militants were killed and 193 others wounded during the past 24 hours.

The ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that the security forces destroyed a large number of weapons and ammunitions of the insurgent group. The security forces carried out raids in Logar, Nuristan, Kandahar, Urozgan, Herat, Jawzjan, Balkh, Samangan, Helmand, Kapisa and Baghlan provinces.

Severe clashes between the Afghan security forces and Taliban have been continuing across the country as the U.S. is on the verge of completion its officials deadline of exit- the end of this month.
