KABUL: At least 40 drug smugglers, including an Iranian citizen were arrested in different parts of the country within past one month, an official said on Saturday.
The Criminal Justice Task Forces (CJTF), Spokesman Ahmad Khalid Mowahid said that the suspect involved in 30 cases of smuggling in different areas of Kabul, Panjsher, Samangan, Parwan, Nimroz, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunduz, Jawzjan, Helmand, Herat, Faryab, Farah, and Badakhshan provinces.
“Around 118 kg of heroin, 24 kg of morphine, over 868 kg of opium, 297 liters of chemicals and 1,872 liters of alcoholic beverages were recovered from the detainees,” he said
Meanwhile, 27 individual were arrested in connection with 18 separate cases of smuggling in the different provinces and handed over to the related officials.
