AT-KABUL: At least 46 militants were killed and 18 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.
In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD)said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas Nangarhar, Kapisa, Paktia, Paktika, Kunar, Laghman, Logar, Ghazni, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Badghis, Jawzjan, Balkh and Helmand province.
Statement said that in these operations 46 insurgents including seven Daesh affiliates were killed and 18 others were injured.
During these operations in the past 24 hours, Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions by artilleries and air force
Four insurgents were arrested and handed over to judicial organs for further inquiry.
During these operations, Nine insurgents including seven Daesh fighters were killed and two other were arrested in Achin and Hesarak district of Nangarhar, eight were killed and nine other were injured in Aqcha district of Jawzjan, four rebels were killed, two other wounded and an ammunition cache was destroyed in Grishk district of Helmand, 11 Taliban fighters were killed and three others wounded as well as some ammunition destroyed in Janikhil and Zormat district of Paktia.
Similar five Taliban fighters were killed in Arghandab and Shenkai districts of Zabul, five rebels were killed and three others wounded in Dehyak district and Shaliza area outskirt of Ghazni, three Taliban fighter killed in Khakriz district of Kandahar and two insurgents were killed and some weapons destroyed in Mohammad Agha and Khoshi district of Logar province.
In past 24 hours, 17 planed clearing operations, eight Special Forces operations conducted in 11 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 87 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 10 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
