AT-KABUL: At least five civilians were killed and nine others wounded in southeastern Paktika province on Monday morning, said officials.
Paktika Governor’s spokesman Nabi Peerkhil said that a suicide bomber detonated his explosives-packed vest inside a bakery at around 10:30 am in Yahya Khil district.
He said that five civilians were killed and nine others wounded in the blast.
Injured people were rushed to the provincial hospital by police, the spokesman said, adding that health condition of four wounded people is critical. The injured in critical condition were shifted to Kabul.
The target of the suicide attacker was only civilians as no government official was inside the bakery at the time of the attack, he noted.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
