50 militants dead in military raids

AT News Report-KABUL: At least 50 militants were killed and eight others wounded in several military operations that have conducted by Afghan defense forces within the past two days.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kunar, Ghazni, Kandahar, Urzgan, Farah, Badghis, faryab, Jawzjan, Nimroz and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 50 insurgents including seven Daesh affiliates were killed and eight others wounded.

Afghan forces arrested one insurgent and handed over him to related judicial organ for further inquiry.

The joint Afghan operation was supported by airstrike.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, 20 Taliban fighters were killed, three strongholds with some ammunition belonged to enemy destroyed in Chora district of Urzgan, 13 insurgents were killed, three others wounded, 25 enemy strongholds, one mine maker factory with 83 rounds of mines and 35kg explosives destroyed in Marja and Nadali districts of Helmand, seven rebels were killed, five wounded and five motorbike destroyed in Shirin Tagab district of Faryab province.

Similar, six Daesh fighters were killed and one arrested in Deh Bala and Pachiragam district of Nangarhar, one Daesh affiliates were killed in Darzab district of Jawzjan, three insurgents were killed in Ab Band district of Ghazni.

In past 24 hours, 12 planed clearing operations, and 65 Special Forces operations conducted in 10 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 60 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 20 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
