A senior militant of the Taliban extremist group and five of his comrades were wounded in an onslaught of Afghan armed forces in western Herat province, according to authorities who reckoned that several hideouts of the Islamic State extremist network were decimated in Ghazni province.
The interior ministry said Tuesday that a shadow governor of Taliban for Pashtun Zarghon district in western Herat was wounded with five other militants in a military raid. General Command of Police Special Units launched an offensive on enemy positions in the Pashtun Zarghon district on Monday, and killed six insurgents including Mullah Nabi shadow district chief for the Pashtun Zarghon, said the ministry in a statement.
Three bodyguards of Mullah Nabi were killed in the raids. Seven motorcycles and four roadside bombs seized as well and no civilian and GCPSU member was harmed during operation, it asserted.
In other military offensives, seven extremist fighters of the Islamic State terrorist group were killed and two affiliated arrested. Authorities said that two ISIS hideouts along with some weapon and a cache of ammunition were destroyed in Deh Bala district of Nangarhar, five insurgents were killed 3 others wounded and four enemy hideouts destroyed in Khas district of Uruzgan, three militants were killed and two explosive armed vehicle were destroyed in Omana district of Paktika province added the statement.
Afghan National Forces conducted seven joint clearing military crackdowns, 93 special mission and (AAF) launched 106 aerial mission including eight air strikes in the last 24 hours.
Afghan National Defense and National Security Forces conducted several military operations across the country ended up with the killing of 50 insurgents and wounding of seven others in past the 24 hours.
ANDSF arrested four Daesh or so called ISIS fighters during these military operations.
Enemy hideout and stronghold were shelled and bombed with air strikes and artilleries by ANDSF.
A statement released by Ministry of Defense (MoD) issued that ANDSF in collaboration with Afghan Air Froce (AAF) have conducted military raids in Nangarhar, Paktika, Logar, Khost,Ghazni, Zabul, Kandahar, Orozgan, Baghlan and Helmand provinces.
Three militants were killed and another wounded in Now Bahar district of Zabul; two insurgents were killed and an explosive-laden car destroyed in Mohammad Agha district of Logar; and a Taliban mine maker was killed in Ali Sher district of Khost province.
Also during air force crackdowns, 29 militants were killed with three wounded, and two cars, two motorbikes along with some weapons and a cache of ammunition destroyed in Qarabagh and Malistan district of Ghazni.
