AT News Report-KABUL: At least 51 Taliban fighters including commanders were killed during operations in eastern Kunar in the past 24 hours.
A press statement released by Ministry of Defense (MoD) said that Afghan army has conducted clearance operation in order to rebuff enemy threats in Ghazi Abad, Nari-wa-Asmar, ShalShengar area of Kunar province.
Statement said that during operation 51 Taliban fighters including military in charge and commanders were killed, added statement.
Statement said that Taliban Shadow chief district Mawlawi Hazrat Ali for Asmar district and Mawlawi Emran shadow chief district for Ghazi Abad were killed during crackdown by army forces.
Statement said that 11 dead bodies of the enemy left in battle fields in the area.
Afghan forces also succeeded to discover and confiscate some heavy and light ammunition and weapons belonged the killed fighters.
Afghan forces were supported by air forces during operation in the mentioned areas, noted statement.
No casualty reported among army forces during operation.
