51 insurgents killed in military raids

AT-KABUL: At least 51 militants were killed and five others wounded in multiple extensive military crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kapisa, Ghazni, Logar, Maidan Wardak, Urzgan, Farah, Faryab, Baghlan, Takhar, Badakhshan and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 51 insurgents including four Daesh fighters and two Pakistani terrorists were killed and five others wounded.

Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, 20 Taliban fighters were killed and vehicle full of ammunition and weapons destroyed in Gilan and Dehyak district of Ghazni, 17 insurgents were killed and five others wounded in Kohistanat district of Badakhshan, five militants including two Pakistani terrorists were killed Tagab district of Kapisa.

Similar, four Daesh affiliates were killed in Shirzad district of Nangarhar, three rebels were killed in Poshtrod district of Farah and two insurgents were killed in Maidan Wardak province.

In past 24 hours, nine planed clearing operations, and 48 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air forces conducted 62 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 15 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.

ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
